I'm known for my quick smile, positive attitude, and loud laughter. I absolutely adore my husband and kids. A few of my favorite things (did you just sing that?) are warm sunshine, a pint of ice cream with a spoon, all things Disney, a great workout, random acts of kindness, and loud music in the car. Did I mention coffee? Where else can you find me? Twitter: @dianneschramm Instagram: @sharingthestairs

When my older kids graduated from high school, I shared written words with them. The writings were intended to be notes for life- geared towards each of them and those specific personality traits that make them the beautiful people they are. Now, it is Angelina’s turn. I wanted to share some of those words with you, too.
There's a difference between being busy & busyness. If I lose ⏰hours in my day from scrolling 📱social media or watching every contestant perform on American Idol, that's busyness.😬 My time is filled, but I'm not accomplishing anything of value. Maybe a little mindless fun, but nothing that needed to be ✅checked off my list.
I'm sure you have moments that stick out to you. Memories that aren't about anything grand, but they're big in your mind. 😍Smaller moments are often the ones that change us the most. One of my best memories involves chicken nachos.
You’ve probably heard this quote: “Change begins at the end of your comfort zone.” I’m not one who typically embraces change.😬 Instead, I stand back and evaluate all potential ❌hazards along the path while steering safely between the guardrails. Change can feel like driving off a cliff. I don’t like cliffs. Yet, I find myself headed straight for the edge of a big one. At the end of this school year, I will retire from teaching. 😊My years in the classroom have been exhilarating but exhausting.🥰 Uplifting, yet soul-crushing. 🥰Incredible and so worth it! 💯I’ve loved my career in the classroom, but it’s time for me to leave.
We're all about 🍰dessert at our house. We've had dessert & called it dinner. True story.😂 We hopped in the car the other night to grab a sweet treat & got something else. The drive-through was crowded. We waited to place our order & get to the window. The 🚗vehicle in front of us had issues. There was a lot of back & forth between the driver & the workers. The person in the passenger seat opened the car door- like he was getting out. We didn't know what was wrong but wished those folks had gone inside to order. 😬We could see our 🍧treats melting as we waited. When we got to the window, the cashier apologized for the delay & handed out our melting 🍧treats. Then, there was confusion with our payment. The drama from the other vehicle ended with a 'dine & dash.'😳 The cashier wasn't sure how to process our payment because the register didn't clear that order. The manager or owner came to the rescue- at least, that's what we thought. Instead of helping this teen solve the problem with knowledge of how to handle these situations in the future, the lady opened the window to tell us how the kid screwed up & was going to pay for the past order- scolding the guy right in front of us!😡 We were uncomfortable. 🙁The kid was embarrassed.😔 The manager was out of line.👎🏻
We recently stayed in a hotel on the National Register of Historic Places. It was modern enough for today with plenty of quirky remnants from the past. We loved the 🥛Milk Closets throughout the hallways. These were used when 🥛milk was delivered to homes. The closets had 🚪doors on both sides- the outside of the house & the inside. In this case, the hotel was once an apartment building- thus the closets in the halls. We've come a long way since 🥛milk was delivered & stored in 🧊ice-filled closets to stay cold.
