I'm known for my quick smile, positive attitude, and loud laughter. I absolutely adore my husband and kids. A few of my favorite things (did you just sing that?) are warm sunshine, a pint of ice cream with a spoon, all things Disney, a great workout, random acts of kindness, and loud music in the car. One of my favorite memories of my grandfather involves a walk to the liquor store. It's not what you think. 😂My grandfather- we called him Daddy Ah- was one of those guys who enjoyed being with his grandkids. He always had 🕰time for us. My grandparents lived a few blocks from a liquor store. We liked to walk there to get a 🍺Budweiser six-pack for him & a Slim Jim for me. He'd put me up on the high counter while he paid. Sometimes, I also got a bottle of soda pop or a pack of gum. We liked to take the long way to the store, which meant going down an alley to a little culvert below the paved road. He would set up 🎯targets of abandoned cans, & I would toss rocks to see how many I could hit. It seemed like we did that for hours- him setting up the cans & me knocking them down. Then, we'd stop at the store. I usually started to eat the Slim Jim before we even left. He carried his 🍺beer home to have later. Sometimes, later was at a picnic table in the back yard while listening to a ⚾️Cardinals game on a transistor radio that he held up to his ear. He would listen to the game while watching me do cartwheels or play jacks.
When social media first became a big deal, I wasn't interested. 😏I thought it was folks sharing what they ate for 🍝dinner or where they went for 🏖vacation. My own life was screaming by at warp speed, so I didn't envision that I had the time to post my own entries or read those of others. I really didn't know what I had to post that would be appealing enough to put into the 🌎world. I was just living life- like everyone else. Social media was not even a consideration.

Last weekend, I wrote about the importance of honesty. I remembered a time in my life when honesty was needed- yet oh so hard to find. 😔Rather than being open, I chose to hide behind a veil of false happiness & the cultivated 🎭image of a perfect family.
When I was a young mother, I worked with a bunch of incredible women. 🙌🏻We were close as co-workers. We 😂laughed. Shared 💔heartaches. Watched episodes of Seinfeld & Friends. That same bunch took an annual trip to a lake house where plenty of snacks were devoured & memories made. Everyone except me.
