Merry🎄 Christmas! I decided to post a day early this weekend since I’m feeling festive! 🥳My holiday will be a little bit of everything. 😍Just the three of us for the morning. 😍Family dropping by throughout the day. 😍Zoom chats to open gifts together virtually. How about you? Maybe you’re with a big crowd of family and friends. Perhaps your morning started way too early with little kids who couldn’t wait to see what 🎅🏻Santa brought down the chimney. You could be celebrating alone. Whatever your day looks like, I hope you’re feeling festive, too.🥰
While we’ve all been listening to holiday 🎼music for weeks now, I’m not ready to turn off the tunes just yet. I’ll still have some favorites playing in the background today. Here are a few from my playlist you might like to hear as well.
🎄Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid~ I was a teenager in the 80s who loved all kinds of music. When Bob Geldof of the Boomtown Rats organized a group of who’s-who in music to record a song and donate profits to feed those starving in Africa, it caught my attention. It was difficult to imagine people without food and water across the 🌍globe in my safe little midwestern town, let alone people who might not know it was Christmas.😥 I love this song written by Geldof and Midge Ure because it celebrates what we should be about during this season and throughout the year. Helping out whenever however we can.🥰
🎄Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Bruce Springsteen~The whole song is great but my favorite part is the intro- before The Boss even starts singing. Bruce just chats with the audience and band about who’s been good this year since 🎅🏻Santa is on his way. Classic, I’m telling you.
🎄Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays by ‘NSYNC~ Why not?
🎄Born is the King (It’s Christmas) by Hillsong Worship~ I discovered this one at ✝️church a few years ago, and it was quickly on repeat in my car. It’s like a 🎁gift. Dare you not to sing the “doo doo do doo do doo do” parts!
🎄Mistletoe by Justin Bieber~ Oh- heck- just put on the whole dang Bieber Christmas album.🎉
🎄Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney and Wings~ It’s Paul, for goodness sake. Play it!
🎄Up on the Housetop by The Jackson 5~ This is 1970s holiday music at its best. And, Michael’s little boy voice is precious!
🎄Feels Like Joy by Micah Tyler~ You will feel the joy with this one. Count on it.
Turn up the volume. It’s Christmas🎄 Day! Release any stress and sadness through music. What if…we keep singing? No matter how you’re spending the time, find a way to put a smile on your face. 🎅🏻🤶🏻Maybe a little Christmas music is just what you need to make this day complete. 🎁Peace and 🎁love and 🎁joy to you, my friends.💖
