The 🌎world lost a great one this week with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. 💔The United States lost an important Supreme Court Justice. 💔Women lost a champion. 💔Fighters for change lost an ally.
Political affiliation shouldn’t matter with this one. Every person should take note of her monumental influence on our society.🙌 She was a force until the end, no doubt about it- a pioneer in every sense of the word. There are very few times that using hyperbole actually conveys the truth. Yet, when speaking of the life of 👑RBG, words like extraordinary, groundbreaking, amazing, and remarkable fit.💯
I love the power of words, and RBG has some powerful 📝quotes attached to her legacy. Here are a few:
🌹”When I’m sometimes asked ‘When will there be enough [women on the Supreme Court]?’ and I say ‘When there are nine,’ people are shocked. But there’d been nine men, and nobody’s ever raised a question about that.”
🌹”Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.”
🌹”Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”
🌹”Women will have achieved true equality when men share with them the responsibility of bringing up the next generation.”
🌹”My mother told me to be a lady. And for her, that meant be your own person, be independent.”
🌹”You can’t have it all, all at once.”
🌹”I’m a very strong believer in listening and learning from others.”
🌹”So often in life, things that you regard as an impediment turn out to be great, good fortune.”
🌹”Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.”
She was a leading voice for 🌟gender equality,🌟 women’s interests, and 🌟civil rights and liberties. She wasn’t afraid to take on a 💪challenge for the greater good- no matter how difficult it may have seemed. She valued her 💍marriage as an equal partnership. She kept learning and growing and 💞caring about others until the end. As a woman, a partner, a mother- I applaud her and offer a humble thank you for her tireless work on our behalf.
Here’s one more quote:
🌹”I would like to be remembered as someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability.”
Well done.🎉
We can’t all be the Notorious RBG- that’s true. What if …we follow her example?😍 Her shoes were big, and her influences wide, but we can all start somewhere. Our 🏠homes. Our jobs. Our 🌄community. Where will you make a difference?💖
