Have you ever had one of those friends who lit up the room? ☀️ I have. I’m not speaking in cliches, either. My friend, everyone’s friend, Heather, had a light within her that no one could resist.😍 It was impossible. She was captivating. The warm smile. ✨ That boisterous laugh. ✨The sweet, comforting voice. ✨Those beautiful eyes. ✨
If you knew her, you were touched by her. She welcomed everyone into her world. She loved big. 💕 She made people around her feel seen and valued and heard. I was lucky enough to call her a friend, but I was not alone. Heather called all of us friends. Oh, what a blessing she was. 🙌
We had many things in common, including fierce love of family, a fondness for 🐶 dogs, and careers working with kids. We especially loved musicals. I remember gathering with our daughters to watch Hamilton on the oversized, soft 🛋 couch in their family basement– and crying during Act 2, of course.
There’s a line written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for Hamilton that goes like this:
“Legacy, what is a legacy?
It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.”
Thanks, Heather, for planting such a beautiful garden. Your friends and family will tend it well, just as you taught us. 💖
